Abstract: Counselors have the ethical obligation to apply equal advocacy in couple’s therapy. Counselors have the ethical responsibility to disclose a child’s therapy progress to their parents/guardians. Counselors have the ethical obligation to apply confidentiality to all counseling content within the bounds of rule exceptions. So, how can counselors understand, utilize, and apply relational ethics within these confines and limits of each therapeutic situation.
This ethics presentation will explore these concepts.
Definition: Relational Ethics is a decision-making model that outlines four core principles: mutual respect, relational engagement, bringing knowledge back to life, and creating environment.
