Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based, effective intervention for resolving psychological trauma and traumatic memory. Since its discovery by Dr. Francine Shapiro in 1987, this revolutionary technique evolved and adapted to meet the needs of diverse clients and diverse situations. This presentation explores the fundamentals of EMDR therapy, its theoretical underpinnings, and the evolution of various applications. Members are invited to bring cases for conceptualization in the EMDR protocol.

Dr. John S. Luquette, LPC-S is a certified EMDR therapist and an Approved EMDR consultant. He began using EMDR in 1994 and trained under Dr. Francine Shapiro.
