Conducting Best Practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC): Know Texas LPC Laws, The Code of Ethics, and the Appropriate Use of Social Media and the Internet

This workshop will provide information on the most current Texas LPC law effective February 28, 2019. A discussion will include the latest revisions to the law and what it means to Licensed Professional Counselors’ daily practice.
The presenter will discuss current and future trends in the profession that have implications for inclusion in Texas LPC law and how other social service professional organizations are addressing the use of social media, the internet, and telehealth.
The presenter will provide guidelines for managing the ethical concerns that arise for practitioners who are using social media sites, especially Facebook and LinkedIn, along with ethical uses of the internet and telehealth delivery.
